BOOK NEWS! - A Fresh Start
/New Beginnings
There is something about breathing in the sweet scent of spring flowers that reminds me of my childhood. Flowers soothe and calm me. Losing myself in a secret garden bursting with blossoms ignites my imagination. Whether it’s walking in a garden, by a lake, or inside a shady forest cove, the intriguing solitude of nature continues to inspire my writing.
You have waited a long time for an update. Thank you for staying with me and visiting me on Facebook and sharing my book news. It fills my heart with joy when I hear from my readers. I’m grateful many of my Essie’s Roses fans have reached out to tell me how excited they are for the next installment. I write stories because of you! Your support is as sweet as spring flowers.
“The only way your dream will never come true is if you choose not to listen to it.”
Sometimes we walk through adversities in life we will never understand–a theme often appearing in my novels. For the past few years, I have had to walk through a difficult journey focused on a special person in my life: my husband.
My husband is the bravest, strongest man I know. I’m so thankful for him and our thirty years of marriage. Many can relate to being a caregiver and an advocate for a loved one. Nothing else matters in times like this. We are walking through what we must, getting back to our lives, and have all faith this will be behind us soon.
The good news: I have returned to my writing, losing myself once again in working on my next book: FREEDOM SONG (Essie’s Roses Book 3). I have enjoyed walking in the lemon wildflower fields and among treasured oaks and roses at Evie and Essie Mae’s Westland. In their next adventure, Evie learns about Westland’s origin story through her grandmother, Ruth Wilcox (Miss Katie’s mother). A reluctant James, Delly, and the mysterious Dr. Willow Jones help (or can they?) Evie and Essie navigate a mystery from Essie’s past and uncover a buried secret or two. But with the chaos and promise of the Reconstruction Era after the Civil War, the women at Westland will have to push the past behind them and band together to save one of their own.
I can’t wait to share more. Stay tuned!

Spring Flowers & Fiction
Stuck inside on a rain day? My novel Water Lily Dance got lost in the shuffle during Covid, but it’s a novel from my heart that will transport you to 19th-century Paris during the early days of a young artist named Claude Monet and back to the present to follow a grieving widow’s journey through loss, love and second chances. Watch the book trailer and read the reviews here!
Did you know Essie’s Roses has an updated edition? Now is a great time to re-read Essie’s Roses and Westland (Essie’s Roses Book 2), awaiting their next adventure. Filled with the romance and symbolism of roses, my Essie’s Roses series is an emotional read about family, secrets, and the meaning of love.
Don’t forget, you can always share my Essie’s Roses series with a friend by gifting them the Kindle eBook on Amazon. Also available in paperback or hardcover wherever books are sold.
Thank You!
With that, my friend, I better get back to writing! Thank you again for your encouragement and support these many years. I appreciate you with all my heart. I’ll be on and off Facebook while I work on my next book: Freedom Song, (Essie’s Roses Book 3).
Until then, please visit me on Facebook and my Goodreads author page.
I have been beyond blessed to meet so many wonderful people on my writing journey. Many readers have turned into special friends. When I started my writing adventure, it’s always meant more to me than putting a book out into the world. My hope was to not only provide an entertaining, heartfelt escape for my readers, but a bit of encouragement between the pages, too.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Spring is a time of rebirth, and so in my next novel, not only will the characters have an opportunity for a new beginning, I will too. I hope you continue to follow my progress and that my stories provide you with an escape and a new beginning of your own. Happy spring!
