Fall Book News & Giveaway!

Happy Fall!

Happy fall, friend! Yes, it’s been too long. As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I took time away to assess what’s next for my writing career and my Essie’s Roses book series. For the last ten years, I’ve thrown myself into my books, writing, research, marketing, the list goes on. Many decisions to make, but I’m happily writing Essie’s Roses Book 3!

The way it goes for me, strangely enough, I often get a title and the ending to my stories first. Five years ago, I had the title of my new novel. You’re the first to know it’s: FREEDOM SONG (Essie’s Roses Book 3).

The term freedom song holds special significance for Essie Mae, Evie and Delly, and I can’t wait to share more. But you will also just have to read Freedom Song to discover its deeper meaning. I hope to share a sneak peek at my new novel soon. Stay tuned!

I’m working hard to craft another (I hope) imaginative, heartfelt story, picking up where Westland (Essie’s Roses Book 2) ended. This time, instead of fighting each other and a shadow from their past, Westland’s “odd family”, as they are called, must put aside old wounds and haunting memories to work together to save one of their own. Loads of interesting research into the post-Civil War South during the Reconstruction Era. Hint . . . after the war for a brief time, Alabama had no government, no law, and an abundance of lawlessness.

What’s this about gold buried at Westland? Fact or dangerous fiction? And Paris . . . hmm, Miss Lil insists on taking Essie and Evie (and Delly!) back to Paris. But is it the right time to leave James alone at Westland?

Are you intrigued? I hope so!

I will keep you posted on my progress. I have also promised myself to jump right into writing the next book Essie’s Roses Book 4 which will explore many new budding relationships at Westland . . . or wherever Essie Mae and Evie’s Freedom Song journey takes them.

Thank you again, dear friend, for your amazing support. Over the years, so many kind readers have reached out to me with their encouragement and zeal longing for more Essie’s Roses stories. I am humbled you have taken to “my girls” so very much. A bit of wisdom from Evie’s Aunt Lil:

Remember, a lady has every right to change her dreams. It doesn’t mean we’ve given up. The important thing is to still have them.

Westland Fall Excerpt an Essie's Roses novel by bestselling author Michelle Muriel

Thankful for You

Another fall has arrived. My quiet time away from writing has me reflecting on how thankful I am to have you in my corner. My readers are the best. They are patient, kind, beyond supportive and thoughtful. It is always my heart to take a moment to say thank you to every reader who chooses my books to read. I appreciate you so very much. YOU are the reason an Essie’s Roses 3 and hopefully, 4 will be out in the world in no time. I hope you have enjoyed the escape. I enjoyed imagining, feeling, and writing them.

The last of fall’s splendor shimmered in the trees. With every blink, through the peephole of the branches to the sky, the swirling leaves shifted in stained-glassed shapes as nature’s kaleidoscope. ‘How I’ve missed you.’ A gust of wind; I relished the trees’ applause. My nose to the breeze; ice tickled the air, odd for the season. But many odd happenings visited the South since the war’s end.

The fall colors–inspiration–the perfect time to slip into my writing bubble. Okay, Essie and Evie, what’s next? Thinking of you. Please stay tuned and thank you again for supporting and sharing my books and news. I simply couldn’t do this without you.

Wishing you a beautiful, tranquil, and happy fall!

Happy reading,

Michelle
